Delta Executor Error Code 280: What It Means and How to Fix It (2026)
Error code 280 is the one that shows up right when you think everything is working. Delta launches fine, Roblox loads, you tap execute, and then the whole thing falls over with error 280. It is frustrating because it feels random. It is not random though. There is always a cause, and it is usually one of three things.
What Error Code 280 Means
While 317 is a failure to attach, 280 is a failure to stay attached. Delta managed to inject into Roblox, but the connection dropped or got rejected partway through. In plain terms, the bridge was built and then collapsed. This is why 280 often appears after an update, after a long session, or right when you run a heavy script.
The Three Main Causes
1. Version mismatch after a Roblox update. Same story as most Delta errors. Roblox updates its client frequently, and even a small change can break the injected session. If Roblox updated overnight and you opened Delta the next morning without updating it, 280 is the classic result.
2. Script related crashes. Some scripts, especially large hub scripts or ones written for older Delta builds, can destabilize the injection. If 280 only appears when you run a specific script, the script is the problem, not Delta.
3. Memory pressure on low end devices. Delta plus Roblox plus a heavy script is a lot for a phone with 3 or 4 GB of RAM. When the system runs out of memory, it kills the injected process, and Delta reports it as error 280.
How to Fix It
Fix 1: Update both apps
Update Delta to v2.743 from our APK download page, and update Roblox from the Play Store. Both must be current. Then restart your phone, open Delta first, wait for it to fully load, and only then open Roblox. This alone resolves most 280 errors.
Fix 2: Test without scripts
Close everything and launch Delta and Roblox without running any script. Play for a few minutes. If no error appears, the problem is script related. Re add your scripts one at a time until 280 returns. The last one you added is the culprit. Either update that script, replace it with a lighter alternative from our scripts guide, or stop using it.
Fix 3: Free up memory
Before launching Delta, close all background apps. On phones with 4 GB RAM or less, this matters a lot. Go to Settings, Apps, and force stop anything heavy like social media apps or browsers running in the background. Also turn off battery optimization for Delta so the system does not kill it mid session. Our guide on fixing Delta crashing covers memory tweaks in more detail.
Fix 4: Reinstall Delta fresh
If the error persists across sessions, do a clean reinstall. Uninstall Delta, restart the phone, install v2.742 fresh, and revalidate your key. Do not restore from a backup on the first launch. Test with a clean setup before bringing your scripts back.
Preventing Error 280
- Keep Delta and Roblox updated together. Never let one fall behind the other.
- Avoid running multiple heavy scripts at once on low RAM phones.
- Update your scripts regularly. Script developers patch their work for new Delta builds, and old script versions are a top cause of 280.
- If you play long sessions, restart Delta every hour or two. Long sessions slowly leak memory, and a fresh launch is more stable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Neither is worse. They are different failures. 317 means Delta could not attach at all, 280 means it attached and then lost the connection. The fixes overlap a lot, which is why updating both apps is step one for both.
Rarely the game itself, but heavy games combined with heavy scripts on a weak phone can trigger it through memory pressure. If it only happens in one game, try a lighter script for that game.
Usually not, but if your key is old or the session feels stale, revalidating costs nothing and rules one cause out. See our key guide if you need a refresher.
If 280 appears consistently during long sessions but never right at launch, and your phone has 3 GB RAM or less, memory is the likely cause. Closing background apps before playing is the practical fix. A full device specific breakdown is in our not working guide.
